It depends on the sampling rate and bit depth you use...

I still listen to old cassette tapes on my car stereo . How's that for anachronistic? Also, I bought a Palm when my habit of writing notes on my ... ah ... palm (lower-case p) started looking really silly. However, I still scribble notes on my palm all the time.

24bit with a 96k sample rate.

That's what you need to approach the quality of vinyl. Any less and it just sounds tinny.

I had to stop that. One year my anger and frustration took over. While I managed to refrain from shredding the wretched document, I wrote so hard that the final page now has it's calculations embedded in my diningroom table. Every taxation time, the light glints off those dreaded hieroglyphics and sears my brain. So now I shuffle off to the store for a software package and a stress relieving squeezeey toy.

If it wasn't for WYSIWIG word processors, I wouldn't write at all. Certainly nothing legible.

I'm remaining 'online social networking' free, other than in forums like this one.
No twitter, Facebook, Myspace, or anything like that for me, despite being an eager early-adopter of many other tech trends.

My son is also not going to be taught cursive in school, it seems. I'm of mixed feelings about this. While I can certainly see him going through life without ever needing to write in cursive, other than a signature, I would like him to at least be able to read it.
So I guess that's up to me to teach him...me, the person with probably the worst cursive penmanship he will ever meet.
