To be honest, I like the way you approach and make covers.
Aluminium insert into the front flip, velcro straps to hold the reader in place, beautiful hand work. If I ever run out of covers for my ebook reader I might opt to purchase yours.

I wish you all the luck in business

Perhaps a version that would slip over the Sony lighted cover? I'd buy one in a heartbeat. Had hoped an Oberon cover could be used for such a purpose, but the Sony lighted cover is a very odd shape and didn't appear to fit the standard journal sizes.

I must confess it's even crossed my mind to ask for a quote from a bookbinder who offers that sort of cover - but I'm pretty sure that the price would mean that's not a realistic option for (literally) a one-off order.

Talked with hmcurrie, and the level of customization he can do is just amazing.
Since it's impossible to get a good cover for a PRS-950 (The Kindle 2 covers tend to block the power button, and there was none I liked anyways) , I was overjoyed and made an order right away.

If anyone are interested, this is the customization I am getting done:

Motif customized to my liking. I'm a big fan of the neverending story, and well I consider my ebook reader a neverending source of stories so

Black/Dark dyed leather.

Two firm straps at bottom, two elastic straps at top (I prefer this as it makes easing the e-reader in and out really simple and holds the ereader very firmly).

A bookplate at the back of the reader.

Aluminium insert to protect the screen.

Very likely a magnetic clasp (Still debating this as it seems the most functional but also not as pretty as the one he already uses).

I'll post a picture when its finished for those interested?

(And yes I am a very difficult customer, but I love my e-reader ).

I prefer reading without a cover, to keep the reader as light as possible. I had a slip cover for my Kindle DX which I liked a lot. It was made in San Francisco by WaterField Designs (www.sfbags.com). It was very light, fit snug like a glove and looked like new after a years use. I contacted them and they don't have one that fits the PRS-650, they are also not willing to make a prototype (actually they don't have any covers for Sony).
Does anybody know about a slip cover that fits the 650? I'd like to replace the bubble envelope I am using right now.

I'd be happy to work with you on this. I'll need pictures/measurements of your case, and of the device in the case, and I'll see what I can do!

I can work out a slipcase. Would you want it lined or unlined?

I would be interested in seeing the finished product.

I have a 650, so it would be interesting if similar could be done for that model.

And a lot cheaper too... I mean, those covers by Josh are awesome, but also expensive. And you'd need to import them if you're not living in the US, as well. Remember, this is an international forum!

What do you look for in a case? Do you mind corner straps? Or is that a deal-killer? Why? What colors do you like?
As I said, above, they look awesome. But I really don't like those corner straps. Knowing myself, I'll always be afraid the reader will slip its cover.

But, I'd love a slipcase, which will fit over my normal cover, for when I want to stuff it in a bag (for example when traveling without time for reading).

I believe it is a very safe cover.
I must say, I was pleasantly surprised when I got my cover. Especially the lack of a clasp is awesome. It looks clean and isn't larger than it needs to be while still having a good screen protection.

Hmm, I never have that problem... But then, I always make sure my readers are sitting flat against the back of my bag, to minimize the possibility of twisting forces.

For the PRS-950 all you can buy from Sony is a zippered bag.

It's not much of an option for those of us that like to keep the cover on while reading
What would you recommend instead of corner straps though? The solution with two firm and two elastic straps is the one that holds the e-reader most firmly of what I've seen, but would be cool if we could find a better way

My Kobo is attached to its cover using the same method and it works really well. I would be happy for a system like that for my 650.

This a very clever solution one member found for his Oberon.

I'd prefer it with some soft lining, so that the reader does not slide against the leather, but nothing that adds a lot of bulk. The idea is to keep it as slim and light as possible.

Let me know what you can do and what the price would be.

Thanks in advance!
