So when do we start discussing AK? Oh, and is everybody going to be reading from the same translation? I downloaded mine from MobileRead... I think it's the same one that's on Project Gutenberg.

![]() Edit:Ugh.. I really need to read better than I have been. You said discussing not reading. Geesh! Edit 2: The translation question is a good one. Last edited by Nyssa; 04-29-2011 at 12:30 PM. |

Thank you, siraks and nyssa. I actually started reading AK last month--I'm a slow reader, so I'm thankful to have a head start!

Anna won?
![]() ![]() I love the blind poll idea. I personally always vote before looking at the results because it's funner for me that way, but I like the idea that we'd all be waiting with bated breath for the end of the poll for the results to be revealed. I don't think it's cheating to look at the poll results before voting now - after all, it's allowed so how is it cheating? But it does give those voters more power as they can see who's in the lead and vote for the one they prefer. The discourse in this thread wouldn't be as lively during voting with a blind poll, but that's OK; that's not a prerequisite of a book club anyway....and I have a feeling after the votes are revealed it would be more lively. Anyway, I want to know why no one likes my idea of two quicker polls? We could even still do it with the blind poll. It's just, only one person responded, so I am curious as to the reasons people wouldn't want to do it that way? Like a three-day first round poll with all ten, then a two-day second round poll with just the top vote-getters. Bob, there is a way you could do it without a poll, though it would be more work. Just have each person private message you a vote and you manually count them. Perhaps that'd be too much work though.... |
