				Kindle covers for Kobo?

The Kindle 3 and Kobo are very near each other in size (the Kindle being a tiny bit bigger).

It seems to be much easier to find cheap, colorful covers for Kindle than for Kobo (checking out eBay). What do you think, would a Kindle cover, the kind with small straps across the corners, work at least reasonably well with a Kobo? Anyone tried one? I'm thinking of something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Leather-Case-Ski...item35b0bef545 (I'm no stranger to modifying things if needed.) (I'll be giving a young girl a Kobo as a surprise gift now that they are available at such good prices, and I want a cheap cover to begin with, and then, if she likes using the reader, she and I can look for something else and maybe spend a bit more for something she has picked herself) |

corner-strap models will fit perfectly. my wife has a K3 cover from the bay that works great.

her only gripe is that she has to move one corner to get to the power button easily, but she has very small hands / fingers. |

Thanks you so much for your reply! I can see how the corner strap can interfere slightly, but I'm going to give it a go and be prepared to do some modification.

I think Moa (13th birthday coming up) will like this ($6 including shipping. I can loose that without shedding tears...) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT |

I'm not a fan of covers that are to be left on while you read. It makes the Kobo heavy and unwieldy in addition to making it hard to hold in one hand.

As my main concern is protecting the screen when transporting it in my bag or coat pocket, I am more than happy with this case: http://cgi.ebay.ca/Borders-Kobo-eRea...item2a0edd2b08 |

For myself I agree with you. I prefer sleeve-like covers. None of my friends agree...

Sleeve covers I can make myself if Moa should decide to join "my side". ![]() (That's part of the reason I don't want to spend too much money on this first one she gets.) |

I've had my Kobo now for about 6 months and I LOVE my book-like cover that I got on amazon.com. Those sleeve covers pick me. Because you have to remove them, that means you could put your Kobo down 'for a second' while you go get something to drink, and then OOOPS! your dog steps on it, or your kid drops a toy on it or sits on it - or whatever. Yes, accidents can happen even with the cover on, but with a book-like cover, any pause in reading means you close the book to protect it while you're not reading.

Also, those sleeves go MISSING all the time! Happens to my camera case all the time. A book-like cover is never removed. Still easy to read one-handed and still feels good with the cover on. Take a look - lightweight - and cheap, too!!! http://www.amazon.com/Kobo-eReader-L...3065413&sr=8-1 |

Just thought I'd report back. Got the covers I ordered today. One spring green, one hot pink (fake I'm sure) leather cover, around $6/each including shipping (cover $1, shipping around $5). Perfect fit for the Kobo even though description says Kindle.

(The one I linked to earlier was $1 when I bought it and I have no idea how come they now charge the totally unreasonable $51. Guessing some sort of typo...). Cover does not add much to the weight but adds a good protection. |

I bought a kidle cover for my father´s kobo 8 months ago. It fits perfectly a it was very chip. 20$ send from Usa to Spain. It´s cheaper than all the sony 300 cover that i have found, and most important for me, with a very big kind of colors.

The 7" sleeves are harder to find on Ebay for dirt cheap. I got mine for 1.19 shipped a few months ago. It's not snug, but not overly baggy either.

http://tinyurl.com/6brggwu would fit nice Make sure you get a 205 x 145 mm one!!! not the other 7" case that some sellers sell on ebay (that one is way too big). Last edited by jayupark; 04-29-2011 at 12:10 AM. |

I use an empty DVD hard case. I am only worried about protecting it while I carry it around or its sitting about. Its cheap and does fine keeping it safe.

			Hi folks.

Is there such a thing as a leather cover (not a sleeve) that has a zippered closure all the way around? I've searched on eBay and haven't seen one. For now I'm using the Roots made sleeve I got at Indigo, but I would prefer a cover so I'm not physically touching my Kobo (on the back of course) and getting my greasy, grubby fingers all over it. |

I don't know if there is a zippered leather cover, but M-Edge have a nylon one.
