brilliant that the restaurant has acknowledged the mistake and are full of apologies.
Restaurant will now read ingredients in things they use out of jars! (maybe)

During the last month or so my hair has been falling out more than average. I was really starting to get worried about it. I remember that I had the same thing happen last year around the same time but can't remember when it stopped or how bad it was.

I've been thinking what could have caused it. I didn't change the way I eat or any other thing I could think of. I first blamed it on the shampoo I was using (the same as last year) but I switched and have seen little to no improvement. I was thinking about a thyroid problem (both my paternal grandmother and my mother's sister take medication for it) and I was planning to make an appointment with the doctor this week.

Suddenly I remembered I've been taking anti-hay fever pills, Loratadine, for three weeks now. This would not only fit with the time frame but I also took them last year. I read the leaflet and one of the side effect, although listed as "very rare", is hair loss. Because my hair loss stopped last year I think I might stop taking the pills (hoping my hay fever period is over) and see what happens in the next few weeks (don't know how long it will take before it will change).

I'm glad I found a possible and probably reason for my hair loss because it was starting to really worry me! Fingers crossed this is the cause

The Kilimanjaro made it to my semi-finals but got eliminated because of the collar. I have a huge neck! I need a collar closure that is more 'wrap-around' and even then I usually have to modify it by adding an extra inch or two. The Kilimanjaro's neck closure was to 'straight' for me to do that without getting some major wrinkles.

The drupe develops first on the tree, and then the pedicel expands into the cashew apple. Within the true fruit is a single seed, the cashew nut. Although a nut in the culinary sense, in the botanical sense the nut of the cashew is a seed. The seed is surrounded by a double shell containing an allergenic phenolic resin, anacardic acid, a potent skin irritant chemically related to the more well known allergenic oil urushiol which is also a toxin found in the related poison ivy.

Give me a good Brazil nut anytime!

both are cats are shedding now so at least I didn't feel left out.
The dog I look after for friends during the weekends at the moments is also shedding like crazy since last week. And her skin has become irritated and itchy during the last couple of days, although that is probably because the comb they were using also pulled a lot of hair out the wasn't loose. IMHO her skin could also benefit from a wash with a good dog shampoo (they don't wash her regularly).

I think I will give myself three weeks, until after my trip to England, to see what happens. I really hope the pills are causing it I don't like going to the doctor.

Now off to bed, it's already past 2am and I have to work tomorrow. Hopefully I'll sleep a bit better.

@Rumpelteazer If it is of any help, I started taking zinc supplements when my hair was noticeably thin (not a good look in a woman). I still have painfully thin hair, but at least now my scalp is not so obvious.

I got off work today after an unscheduled 17+ hour day. Norton let me have 4 hours sleep before deciding it was time for me to wake up. Now that he wants to go to sleep, I won't let him.

But I'm too tired to read posts and respond with any degree of sense, so I think I'll sign off now and prepare for bed. Good night, everyone. Sleep tight & pleasant dreams!

we have been assured that they will - apparently they couldn't get the pesto from the normal supplier - the replacement obviously wasn't checked thoroughly.

They've been very apologetic, one suspects very worried by the incident, and have made a reasonable donation to Kidney Research - that exceeded the cost of the meal.
