				Sad Day

I received my PocketBook 360 for Christmas and have been using it daily since then. I love this little thing, it goes with me everywhere. Until yesterday that is. I brought it downstairs and placed it on the table while I went to get coffee. When I came back it seemed a bit odd. I changed pages and the top right corner didn't change.

I looked closer and could see horizontal light/dark lines and the distinctive diagonal that means my PocketBook needs repair. My only saving grace is that I still have my BeBook Mini to fall back on.Does anyone know if replacing the screen is cost effective for the 360? Does Pocketbookreader.com have any kind of screen discount program for purchases within 5 months? |

From what I have read here, the screen is not covered by the warranty, and costs nearly as much as a new reader would cost. But you can contact Pocketbook at service@pocketbook.com or 877-326-0196. The phone number is US support, but it should work from Canada, too.

I feel your pain; I would be very sad to lose my Might Mouse like that even though I have other readers to fall back on. |

My condolences, Justy. Thanks for posting. Hearing about screen problems coming out of nowhere makes me take extra care with my unit, even though it's no guarantee for averting fate.

Well, I do have a rambunctious 7 yr living with me, so there is nothing to say that it wasn't bumped or even knocked down at some point causing breakage to show up later. I do know that it survived falling to the floor at least a few times, so it's not totally fragile. It all depends on *how* it falls or gets bumped I guess.

I heard back today from the Service Dept. looks like a new screen is $125, a new 360 is $130 so I won't be sending it in for repair. He did mention that the 360 Plus would be shipping to the US soon. Sounds like my next 360 will be an upgraded model, I can wait a bit for them to hit the virtual shelves.

And I wonder about the replacement price. Did they really mean the 5" screens? In Europe, Bookeen replaces 6" screens for about 120 Euro and 5" for 50 Euros (~ 70-75 Dollar, plus additional mail fee). |

That is interesting, I'll ask them for clarification. Of course now that the 360 Plus is almost out I'm tempted to just upgrade anyway.

I heard about 125$ for a replacement screen quite often in the last month, so it's most probably right. Nasty way to push your sales...

Afaik, PocketBook Service Center replaces any screen, either 5" or 6" for $125...

I wonder if anyone is looking for a 'parts' pocketbook 360? I hate throwing mostly working electronics away. |

I know your pain, I had cracked my tablet's screen after a very minor bump. I have replaced its screen again, and had to do a lot of DIY modding to make the screen fit. But now the tablet's touch works a lot better than before. So I am once again a happy father of a happy tablet.

![]() You can try to find if someone's selling a dead PB 360 here in the flea market for cheap by posting a want-to-buy thread, and use its screen on yours. And if you cant get that or if a new replacement screen costs more than a hundred bucks, you are better off getting a new reader. |
