but they did not know that they "didn't need to know" until someone informed them. All they knew is there is some mysterious problem with the new version that no one will comment on. They might of been hesitant to upgrade not knowing what the problem with the new version was. Now they know and if the problem does not effect them they can confidently go ahead with the upgrade..

I'll have to agree with Ron. I had the feeling something would be broken, since I don't do... "evil deeds" with my Kindle content and therefore do not pay attention to these things. I think we can all agree that this thread is already running in circles and going nowhere. |

Does anyone know if the kindle app update for the iPhone does anything to upset the process. I have not updated yet. Am waiting to hear if anyone has any problems. Carol. |

Let's put this puppy to rest, shall we? If there were "legitimate" concerns with 1.5.0 that affected everyone across the board, they would have been discussed openly; with no "nudge, nudge--wink, wink." The fact that they weren't was a dead giveaway that it only pertained to those who would--and judging by the responses in the thread did--"get it". The only problem came when those who were unaffected let their curiosity get the best of them. In the future, keep in mind that; "If you have to ask, it obviously doesn't affect you." But next time, I'll just avoid posting a super-secret thread altogether. That way, no one will have to interpret, wonder, deduce or otherwise be inconvenienced by asking them to flex their powers of reasoning. I apologize for finding an obviously successful way to spread the word without breaking (or even flirting with the idea of breaking) forum rules. Last edited by DiapDealer; 04-24-2011 at 11:52 AM. |

Some moderator please close this sad excuse for a thread already. Edit: An ignore list. Now that'll take care of that. Edit 2: Hmmm OK, not that great a feature. Last edited by MichelRenaud; 04-24-2011 at 11:21 AM. | |

Discussing illegal activities in a public forum is never a good idea, but Mobileread has actually had legal warnings about this in the past so its stance about it is understandable enough.

oh for goodness sake! Ignore lists are always much more fun when you actually inform people that you're ignoring them first, right? I still have the Amazon for PC beta version. I just keep it around as a back-up method in case my other back-up methods fail. |
