The only thing we know is that libraries won't have to buy more eBooks for Kindle users. Everything else is speculation. But I think most of us can agree that wait times will probably get longer.

(IMHO), I can see eBooks have a wait time of years.

It'll change. All of the Kindle users I know don't have a clue on how to strip DRM; nor are they inclined to learn how. It's too much of a hassle. And I dare say, that most Kindle users are like this.

I agree with TubeMonkey on this. The vitriol on this thread is amazing. It is almost as bad as the left and the right arguing political issues. The personal attacks here have been a little petty IMHO.

I would expect libraries to choose the best and most cost-effective sources of rental books. Lending libraries such as Overdrive should not have any cost differential. Format conversion is easily done (Calibre, anyone?).
