That sucks. Searching on "how to tell car was in flood" brings up a number of useful sites on this topic. How are the cars electronics? Water and electricity are a notoriously bad mix.

The electronics are fine. The only problem we've ever had with it that *might* have been electronic turned out to be a loose battery connection. Once we replaced that, no more problems.

The prognosis is that assuming they can fix the current problem (cradle that holds gas tank rotted/rusted out, which means the gas tank was moving every time I hit a bump, which rubbed a hole in a fuel line), that it should last until tax time next year. Which isn't ideal (for me), but will accomplish the goals of not having two car payments at once,(Chris's is paid for in July), and having the money for a down payment. We gave our current car dealership a heads up about searching for me another Tracker or a small crossover... we'll see what happens. At least I hopefully don't have to have something else right this minute.

lol, sis was asking what book i was reading, and i couldn't answer her XD (I was reading an m/m bdsm book). but she's the sister i can be sort of frank with and it wouldn't faze her.

@nash: yeah, Bent. i was thinking of buying it then it was a freebie from AllRomance, so i'm happy

i do have more *ahem* acceptable books (travel lit, mostly) on my to-buy list, but they are under the Agency 6 publishers, making them more expensive and thus they are low on the list :P

Hee hee As far as I'm concerned ANY free book is acceptable. I have no shame about my reading material. The other day my roommate came in to check on me and asked what I was reading. "Gay vampire porn." (It was one of the shorts in Just One Bite Volume 1, also from AllRomance, that I got a few months ago.)

Requisite Rant: Stupid agency publishers, forcing me to read smut because I can't afford acceptable reading material!

(That only holds water until someone points out the tons of Christian fiction freebies. Some of those are really good too.)

for me it depends on the person. the sister who just asked is usually almost unflappable. but my eldest sister is a bit...i don't know if you'd call it religious or what, but she gets a little embarrassed when i talk to her in such a frank manner. that or she'd try to tell me it was sinful or something. sometimes i think she's really repressed.
