Well that was the case with the 500, maybe the 505 is smarter and instead of crashing, simply refuses to put text there

I can put text there using Book Designer. Either a footer or a rgular line and it seems to work fine without a crash.

I have been having some issues with converting an ePub I threw together over the weekend. Since it uses html2lrf in the back-end, I figured this would be the place to comment on an HTML conversion glitch I have seen.
My tricky content is a single HTML file with a small CSS stylesheet at the top. I attempted to tweak the CSS after cleaning up the HTML and converting it to XHTML. What I tried to do is set a 'line-spacing: 1.5;' attribute for all paragraph tags, so that it would more closely match the line spacing used in the original book this is from, and make it slightly easier to read. The end result is very weird. The first paragraph has the correct spacing, the second has more spacing, the third has even more spacing, the fourth has even /more/ spacing... etc. After a few pages, I only get one line per page because the line spacing is now very, very large. Almost as if the final HTML in the LRF embeds all the paragraph tags inside each other on accident. I haven't tried using a value of a fixed spacing, rather than this multiplier, yet though. |

Open a ticket and attach the HTML file to it.

I've got code in an XML file that looks like...
Code:
<div id="chapter_29533" class="chapter"> <h2><span><b>Chapter</b> <em>1</em></span> My Own Kind of Lie</h2> Code:
<div id="section_3187" class="section"> <h3>Acknowledgments</h3> |

html2lrf doesn't automatically convert headers into ToC entries.

Any chance then that this could be made a high priority? Without this being done, epub2lrf is pretty useless since the samples I posted come from an epub XML file. epub doesn't have links. It just gets the ToC from the code.

Doesn't the epub file specify a ToC? If not, it's a poorly made epub file.

Hmm most epub files I've come across specify the ToC in an OPF+HTML file rather like oebps 1.0 documents. Adding support for NCX to epub2lrf is something I'll have to do at some point, though I don't have much motivation since epub is a technically superior format, which will be supported on the SONY reader soon and there aren't a lot of ebooks in epub format.

Yes, it is in the ncx file. epub2lrf does need to parse the ncx file in order to generate a proper ToC. What other info is needed to be pulled from the ncx?
Yes, the 505 should be getting epub support, but we don't know if the 500 will also be getting it. So until it's announced for the 500, 500 users will need epub2lrf to read epub. |
