Nope, these people are using the system exactly to the terms that Amazon allows. you want to change the system to what you think it should be. Overall, the system is working as designed, however, there is a lot of people who want it to be something else, and is complaining about the users who use it effectively.

I think that sums it up nicely.They don't care that other customers are ok with the price, and they don't want to be "heard;" they want to be obeyed. They're attempting to do harm in order to pressure the seller into handing over entertainment merchandise for less money. Big retailers occasionally bully vendors like this, but it's illegal in most places. The mafia does this to small businesses sometimes, but the Amazon reviewers probably wouldn't have the nerve to do such a thing in person.

As I've said before, using the system in a permissible (by Amazon) way is different from using it in a constructive, helpful way.

Yes, like the user who's 1-star review was titled "Glad I never bought a Kindle." Clearly a poor rating of the Kindle book by someone who doesn't own a Kindle is a legit contribution to the cumulative rating.

Isn't censorship wonderful? On the official Zune forums, the Zune HD kept getting too many negative posts because of a lack of apps. Just saying you were disappointed in the lack of promised apps brought down the wrath of fan boys and Microsoft staff assigned to the forums. It finally got to the point that Microsoft could no longer contain it, so they shut down the entire message board. Poor Microsoft ...lashing out wildly because they were plummeting in the mobile market.

Mafia? Some people have a different opinion of what the system should be. They feel that they should have a right to voice their opinions regarding all aspects of the book. And they feel that other prospective buyers should be alerted to the fact that the book is unreasonably priced.

My advice for you is "get over it". Ignore those reviews when choosing a book. Telling people that their opinions are useless and that they should shut up won't get you very far.

"allowed the current system to exist"? Exactly what is so obviously bad with the current system? I do not get it? Why is an arbitrarily choose line relevant for deciding if a price is good or bad? Why use $9.99? Why not use $8.99? Or $10.99?

Is it also OK to give one star reviews of the book without reading it if you do not like the author race? Or his political views? Or his clothes?

Would it be ok to give a one star review if the author is a well known racist?

In this case what people vote against is unfair discrimination against ebook users -- and a vote like this is one of the best ways to get attention and perhaps make a difference. If it works, you too will be enjoying the benefits.

Discrimination? Because an ebook user cannot boy paper books or? And the product is different since the ebook is more useful in many way (search, annotation). So there is no reason the price should be the same.
