Just a plain library with 7000 books and a couple custom columns. I do have three news items that get fetched while calibre's opened - 1 Monday, 1 Tuesday and 1 Wednesday.

I have NO news scheduled, No content server running and my usage is stable unless I do something. (Usage climbs to over 600M, at which time I restart to eliminate the bog. I can not pin down what task is sucking up the RAM.

I now suspect the News Polling process may have a leak.

Have you tried making sure no plugin is the cause with
calibre --ignore-plugins

Not that I can think of one that does anything continuously in the background but it would be nice to confirm it has nothing to do with your issue. I know you are a big plugin user.
