newbie here

Hi, I'm not really big on introductions, so this will be short lol. I'm running out of space in my apartment due to all the books my hubby and I have bought, so now I'm feeding my reading addiction digitally instead of physically. |

There are refurbished Nooks on sale right now. Have a look at the Nook forum. And the Kobos are down to, if I remember it correctly, 60$ at the closing borders stores. A reader can pay for itself as there are lots of free ebooks available. We have Deals and Freebie section here and thousands of books in the Patricia Clarke Memorial Library. And than there are the free books on Amazon or B&N, Sony, Smashwords. Before you know it, you will have a virtual TBR of 1,000 books. That happened to me at last and I got my first reader just 6 month ago Have fun here!

Great to have your company, Mom. Netbooks are terrific, but y'ain't seen nothing yet. Wait until you lay hands on an ebook-dedicated reading device. Those treebook shelves will soon clear. Luck and best wishes. Neil

Hello, Momidoll. You're not the only one that's trying to free up space. I've wondered what my parents are still doing with their old vinyl record collection. I'm sure they could easily find those old albums with an iPod.

That is very smart, digital sounds flat!!! Your parents seem to love music, are you sure you are no changeling?

That's the thing. They don't even listen to them. They're just there as a collection. I think they just want space to be taken up. I don't think it'll be easy to make them go digital when it comes to books. My mother's friends are waiting for my novel to come out in paperback. Their all over 60 so they're not comfortable reading novels on their computers. Some of them don't have computers.
