This makes perfect sense and shows she is not greedy. If she were, she would take advantage of those who never grew up/missed something in their childhood or whatever it is that makes people read childrens books.

Over here they were a huge success as an actor made an incredible reading, having seperate voices for all the characters and the kids adore it.

Normally, I hate audiobooks, because it is someone just reading the book, but Jim Dale did an AWESOME job on the HP audiobooks. It was like an old school radio play.

Regarding her ebook reluctance, maybe she just feels paper books are important (especially for kids, as some researchers have claimed) and feels she is rich enough to forgo one additional source of revenue, and use her popularity as a force to get paper books in young people hands.

I think I'd LIKE that to be the reason vs.s the other options. Has any one asked her?

Actually she's gone on record as saying that is one of the reasons. Consistantly she's worried about piracy (which is silly, since no legal ebooks are available, and it was WIDELY pirated), and getting kids to read books. Kids now a days are constantly plugged in, and she wants them to get off the grid for a bit.

Her reasons stated just seem a bit too altruistic by nature and not sure I believe that's the real story behind her refusal to allow digital ebooks. Releasing movies seems a contradiction right there, and now the theme park? Usually, especially when it comes to kids, seeing a movie means there is no reading of the book, meaning less book sales. My gut tells me she's in it for the money the same as anyone else would be.

But whatever her real reasons, by the time she does allow ebook formats of her books, the majority of people who want them for their ereaders will most likely have downloaded them already which will severely hurt the eventual ebook sales.

That can't be it either. If they're reading a book, by definition they are off the grid.

I absolutely adore Jim Dale, and he is the only reason I might ever decide to "read" the Harry Potter series.

So this means her intentions are on the children and she does not care if you are able to buy an ebook or not. She didn't write HP for an audience with an income that has enough money to burn it on gadgets.

Children do not normally have jobs that allow them to earn the money to buy HP books, whatever their format . . .
