which format to download for Cybook ?
As a new owner of the Cybook I'm about to download books.
Does anybody have suggestions as to which format is best when you might want to change fonts, size etc ? Also tips on good links for e-books are very welcome. All subjects welcome. Maurits |

You're posting in the wrong sub-forum, it would've been more appropriate here (Cybook Gen3 -> Content):
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=142 But to answer you question, the Mobipocket format should work best. You can find e-books in that format here on MobileRead and here are some other sources: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3968 I don't really understand your second question. JPG and PNG both work fine on the Cybook, one is lossy but smaller in filesize (JPG), the other one is lossless but bigger in filesize in general (PNG). |

For the Gen3 you should download MobiPocket format books. Any Mobi book can be viewed using whatever font at whatever size you wish. You can copy your own fonts onto the Gen3.

Hi,
I also just got my cybook. You can use mobipocket, but also ASCII or HTML. With all tree you can select font size and font family, and adapt them to your eyesight. With PDF, the cybook handle them as images, so depend on how they are formatted. Most PDF are formatted for larger screen and look too small. But you can see that in the samples that are pre-loaded some is PDF and they look good enough. Ciao ---- FB |

And I wouldn't suggest converting any of them to PDF. PDF files, if not formatted for the 6" screen, just don't look all that great. Come to think of it, if you get them from Kindle into PDF, you could probably run them through Mobigen, BookDesigner or Mobipocket Creator and create a decent mobi file. Derek |
