i picked up on sunday. the biggest disappointment is that it doesn't handle high profile hd and can't handle ac3 5.1 sound. i don't want to have to reduce the quality or reduce my files to 2 channel as it make the hdmi port nearly useless for me. my archos 101 handles the same video files flawlessly. now besides that the xoom is far better than the archos 101, but it seems a bit slower that the gtablet (viewsonic tegra 2 tablet). i don't know if it's b/c the rom it tweak so well by roebeet, honeycomb is that much of a strain on the processor or if there's just some other reason. i haven't rooted yet as i'm not 100% sure i'll keep it. i may go to another ti omap device or try qualcomm's if they have no problems with hd video. |

Most Android forums that I've read recommend not using live wallpaper becuse it's CPU/battery intensive. That being said, I run "Thunderstorm" (assume) on my SGT without issue. I showed my tab to an Apple fanboi yesterday and he was impressed with my wallpaper! |

no i never us live wallpaper on any of my android devices. i'm just guessing that honeycomb just uses a bit more resources. beautiful widgets anim stutters a bit where it was the smoothest ever on the gtablet. installing apps was snappier also. i'd just zoom through intalling all my apps with no problems where the xoom stuttered at times. could be the market versions too. |

I'm no fanboi or anti-fanboi, but I totally and completely disagree with Apple's business practices.

I was in Costco today and they had both flavors of Xoom, wifi only and 3G with a paid contract. Prices depended on the carrier for the 3G. I was in a hurry and didn't have time to drool.

Although, as a stock holder I am very happy with there business practices. Look at their stock value over the last 5 years compared to Microsoft. BOb | |
