If he takes off as the water is receding he has a chance of making it to high ground before the wave hits. So no mud. (winks)

Cooper has chewed through just about every dog toy we had in the house in order to 1) eat the felt or casing 2) get the squeakers out. He has then destroyed every squeaker. He then pouts when we toss away the remnants of the toy and the broken squeaker.

So today I went out and bought new dog toys. Lots of them. He has already found one with a squeaker and is happily working on eating through the casing. I give it two hours before he has the squeaker out. (sigh)

Got ya beat, my waters in a special colourful bottle and if I bought it, it would have cost 3 bucks, really, are people insane?

If you have a chance, watch Penn and Tellers Bullsh*t, they do a piece on bottled water, and it is funny and hits home if you happen to like bottled water better than the stuff that comes out of the tap.

Tap water over here is a on borderline with undrinkable. They had a few discussions on BBC radio about it.
The BBC presenter - Bp
Anglian Water representative (a local water provider, who says that we should drink bottled mineral water) - Aw
Bp: So, you are saying that tap water is bad for us, that it is undrinkable?
Aw: No. You can use tap water. No problem. It goes through many tests and is absolutely safe for drinking.
Bp: But you are telling us that it is better for our health to drink bottled mineral water, because it doesn't have a, b and c that can be found in tap water. And you are saying a,b, and c are unhealthy for us in a long run.
Aw: Yes. Consumed in big quantities they are not good.
Bp: So, it unhealthy to drink tap water you provide us with?
Aw: No, it is absolutely safe. The water doesn't cause any harm to one's health.
Bp: Then why do you say that it is better ...blah blah blah...

I have heard this type of conversation twice with different people on BBC.
I know for a fact that we have very hard water. If (not if, when, because I don't have water filters in college) I make a cup of black tea, the cup is black after only one cup. We have office water coolers on each floor that are being serviced once per year over summer. Very similar to the one on a picture I attached. I drink this water regularly, but when I make a cup of tea....the cup is black. My guess would be that the filter got to be changed probably every 3-4 weeks instead of every %$! I mean 54 weeks. Maybe it doesn't have any filter at all?
When I have been to Scotland, I could feel kettle straight from a tap, make a cup of black tea and cup would remain pristine white.
So, I always buy bottled water from home and use Brita water filter for kettle (swap it every 5 weeks, if it stays longer cups are black after black tea).

Do I buy mineral water in big supermarkets? 1.5L for 80 pens?
No way. I tried once Tesco's cheapest one, 25p per 2L. It tasted like boiled water from my kettle
I always buy mineral water from Lidl, German supermarket. 2L Carrick Glen spring water 21p

How extraordinary. I can't imagine why the Anglian Water chap would say that.

Hard water is actually good for you*. It's not so good on heating appliances, as the Calcium ions come out as Calcium carbonate and coat the heating elements.

*well, it was good for me. Moving from a soft water area to a hard water area at age 5 fixed up some problems with teeth and nails.

He was advocating drinking mineral water over tap water at the same time telling us that tap water is 100% safe. It was funny how BBC guys handled it on both occasions.

I don't remember what where the a,b and c ingredients they discussed though.

In the Penn and Teller BS episode I was talking about, they filled bottles with tap water from a garden hose at the back of the restaurant, they then sold those bottles to customers eating. Not one of the people figured out that it was tap water and none of the people that tasted more than one bottle realized that they were all the same. The customers descriptions were classic. "This one is sweeter and has a hint of minerals"
In the US, (I assume Canada as well) tap water is safe, here in Asia I was actually afraid to rinse my mouth when brushing my teeth. We now filter it and drink it. I have never been sick from it.
