Bought a new computer, had stuff transfered over from old to new. Told the guy that what I wanted was my word documents, all pictures, favorites (internet) and Calibre. Rest I could care less about.
So, that was all that was transfered, no problem. I had the ADE on my old computer, but I don't think that transfered, as I haven't found it. What has me confused is that I obtained several books from Smashword when it was ebook week. I am just now getting down to wanting to put them on my reader (Sony 900). I go into Administrations, go to downloads and there are the books. When I clicked on one to open it, it states: Wiindows can't open this file. To open windows needs to know which program you want to use . . . I am offered two choices use web service to find correct program select program from a list of installed program When I click on the first one, it take me to a site (Windows) that says file association and it states there that it doesn't recognize the file. This happens with epub and also with lrf It states that I need to download a file called filecure. Okay, do I need to download that? Do I need to download ADE (I don't intend to buy books that have DRM)? Do I need to download what is recommended for the lrf (don't remember what it was, but they all state they are certified by Windows Microsoft)? I don't know much about computers, so I get confused easily, sorry to be so inept, but I get lost easily in that area. Thanks for any help anyone can give me |

Or simply open them (Calibre View button), if they are IN your Calibre Library. |
