Yeah, I think it'll work fine. It just needs to give my Reader some protection. I don't need it to stop a bullet or anything.

Hmm, I'm wondering about this... Anyone in the UK fancy coming in on a joint order & splitting the shipping costs?

Well, I figure the following costs for each (using a US$2=£1 conversion), with the 1st col the number of people, then the 2nd col if the UK onward postage is 1st class recorded & the 3rd col if the UK onward postage is UK Special Delivery.

i.e. Just two people, using SD drops the shared price to £23.63 each (1st would be cheaper, but a longer wait/more hassle if one goes astray)

N 1st Cls SpDel
- ------ ------
1 £27.50 £27.50
2 £22.52 £23.63
3 £20.86 £22.33
4 £20.03 £21.69

Did the 500 fit in the case with the leather cover on, or the cover that came with the reader?
Thanks!

The 505 fits snugly in the case that comes with the Reader. It used it when I went out of town for the holidays. It's a soft metal that yields when pressure is applied, but I found it provided sufficient protection during travel in a carry-on bag.

is it real titanium(what grade) or just a hardened tin case?

According to the seller on ebay - who I think is the same seller on amazon - they are not titanium. I've heard them described as 'pretty sturdy', but you still probably wouldn't want to toss it around or anything.

I received one of the cases from Ebay yesterday. It's definitely just a tin case with neoprene inside, but the construction is fine, and the fit is absolutely perfect for the 505 with the stock cover.

That being said, I would put a rubber band around it to ensure it really stays closed while it's packed in my luggage.

I just received mine from the person at amazon. It does what I want it to do and that is to give some added protection when I travel.

Which one?

Hello, I reduced the possibilities to two cases and I would appreciate some advice.
This is the expensive one, from Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/eCaddy-Hardshe...1732254&sr=8-1

and this the other one
http://www.effectuality.com/store/it...tore/us/lng/en

Has anyone bought one of them? Which one fits better?
Thanks

My husband has the one from amazon. It has neoprene cushioning inside, and it cradles the reader in its original cover perfectly - it doesn't move at all in there. He throws the case in his overloaded briefcase and it has protected his reader for a couple of months or so.

It looks to me like the cheaper one has one of those spindles that you put a cd or dvd on in a jewelbox-type case. I think you might have to pull that out to fit the reader in, and then there would be no cushioning in there unless you put something in yourself.

Edit: He's actually had it since mid-January. He says he loves it.

Thank you JanetCinNC, that was what I needed to make a decision. If the 505 fits with its original cover I don't have to look for more cases.
The cheaper one, sent to Spain, where I live, is probably more expensive than the other one so, I'm gonna start thinking what else I'm asking to Amazon because I don't like to make an order with shipping costs with only one item.

Thanks again
Greetings
Pendergast
