Hmmmm.... Did you stop to consider that in fact, she was pregnant, and really, really needs to drink a drop or two of blood for the health of her unborn babies. There are three types of Dengue. It's type III that is the usual killer. I've been lucky. Frankly, if it hurts as much as the other two, I think I'd prefer to die. That's the trouble with type I and type II; They hurt so much you wish you were dead, but you don't die. You just lay there moaning and groaning. There is no cure and there is no prevention other than keep from getting bitten by a carrying mosquito!

saw the thread where the NY times paywall has been cracked.

for some reason, that really annoys me. i'm getting tired of people who seem to want everything for free and don't want to shell out for it! don't they realize that journalists and other staff work hard and sometimes (no, make that most of the time recently) risk their lives just to deliver stories, and when they charge for access to those stories, people just say, "no, no way am i paying those fees. i want it for free, and i don't care about how you feel." <--- of course that's not what people really say, but i feel that's what they really feel, and when is an emotional rant rational, anyway? xD; i just wish that newspapers had never offered free news online at all (that was a stupid move, really), so that people wouldn't have gotten used to the freebies, and whine like little children when they're being asked to pay up.

for some reason i don't understand why people would despise communal living; they would get goods and services for free, at least, the ideal type of communal living not the failed ones we've known. blah. i guess maybe they feel that the products produced in communal living are inferior to those in a competitive society. competition just makes human beings treat each other like animals. :| i'm tired of living if people are like this.

i don't know. maybe this frustration comes from my being a failed writer; i've always wanted to be one but my parents told me i would starve. well, with people like those, now i can see why. i'm getting sick of human beings being cruel to each other. WHAT'S THE POINT OF LIVING IF ALL YOU WANT IS TO ONE-UP THE OTHER PERSON ALL THE TIME?

WE MAY HAVE FREEDOM, BUT THERE IS CERTAINLY NO DIGNITY IN THAT WAY OF LIFE. in fact, aren't most of what we deem as 'achievements' are usually at the expense of another person? :| why can't we live together peacefully? we're just too many. too many people in the world... :|

i'm also really tired of people who feel that they have to argue with you whenever you post your own opinion. i just usually post then leave. i just want to put in my worthless opinion which i'm sure the OP feels is beneath their opinion.

hmm...kind of tired of living, actually. but i'm too much of a coward to do anything about it. i hate pain :|

A good rant. And I agree. If the NYTimes want to change for access, people should pay up or go somewhere else.

Getting around the paywall is as bad as downloading a torrent of this year's 100 bestsellers.

I certainly won't be paying for the NYTimes. I pay for the BBC, and I'll use their news web site.

i just look at the yahoo news. or better yet, i just read our own newspaper at home xD; still, sometimes reading the news is so tiresome. all those bad news. i don't get why people would want to circumvent a paywall to read bad news. it's everywhere, really.

hmm...i don't see how it's related to breaking the DRM on a book, though (as the OP added later). i see DRM as restrictive of a customer's right to be able to use the book that they bought however they choose, provided it's legal and within reason. circumventing the paywall means you don't want to pay up. i think it's different, but i didn't tell the OP this anymore because i don't want to start a lengthy argument. i just wanted to put in my two cents and leave x_x; sometimes i get really scared when there are members who aggressively put their opinions out there. i'm scared of aggressive people xD; i could never think clearly around them.
