iPad Would you change or return your current iPad for the iPad2?

Other than video conferencing, what's the point of a camera? Cell phones have cameras if you need one in a pinch, and I'd bet that most iPad owners already have smartphones w/ a better camera than the one on the iPad.

I think anyone who uses an iPad for taking job notes - carpenter, contractor, surveyor, insurance assessor, etc.. etc.. - would see a benefit from having quickie reference pictures (or a short video) added directly to the note app. As it is I take pictures with my iPhone and combine them with the job notes later; it's not a big deal, but if I had an in-built camera (or an add-on module) I'd definitely use it. Low-res images are fine for this sort of use IMHO, so the definition of the 'better' camera here is the one that's most convenient

Ah... that makes sense. There's a show on HGTV called Cash and Cari", she does estate sales. She always has an iPad w/ her when she's assessing a house full of stuff, so I can see how being able to take a picture and attach it to links and info that she already has on an item would be very useful. Good point.

ahahaha, I tried out Facetime with it the first day, with my wife on her iPhone 4, and haven't used the camera(s) since. Facetime worked as advertised-but the camera quality is really disappointing compared to the iPhone 4.

People voted by keeping the current iPad, at least here. But a visit to Amazon or Craiglist shows iPads being sold like crazy there!

Even with all of the ipads being sold and ipad 2s being bought, I believe most people are not looking to upgrade after 11 months, or less, of ownership. Even if they wanted to, they can't justify it and/or afford it. The amount being sold used still isn't close to half of the 17 million that were sold, but... a lot were sold, so even a small percentage will seem like a lot.

As they should be. iPad 2's release not only has some of the original iPad owners, but it has first time owners of a tried and true product.

As a current owner of iPad, I am upgrading to iPad2 not for the cameras, but for what's inside the device. I am selling my iPad original to help defray the cost of the new one. I planned on selling it as new models came available. Afterall, the iPad original isn't going to gain, but lose value with the passing of time. By the time iPad 3 comes out, the iPad original will be basically worthless as a resale item.
No worse than buying new computer or car when newer models come about. Unforunately, computers including the iPad lose value very quickly unlike a car which is still viable as a trade in in a few years. I've learned that by holding onto consumable items too long, that eventually they have very little value and are hard to sell.

ordered mine online at Apple store, ipad and cover are in "prepared for shipping" status so expect they will go out later today. Hope to have shipment by Friday as my iPad1 will be sold and need to be mailed to it's new home! Timing is everything! LOL

Well, I'd change my response if I could. I like the updates in the new version, but being quite happy with the original, and not really needing any of the upgrades, I planned to sit tight and continue to enjoy the original.

Then came yesterday... My wife has informed me the she is tired of waiting, and is ready to take over the original as soon as I get off my ... tail and order a new one for myself. Seems I have made another decision -- glad someone informed me.

Now, I just have to decide on playing retail stock roulette or resign myself to waiting a month or more for an online order...
