yeah I have never seen a non sdhc 4gb MSD card - only Mini SD and Full SD.

is there any ROOM inside the device? you can get a MSD to FULL SD adapter. but its pretty thick I doubt there is sufficient room inside.
The upgrade is based on a 16Gb microSDHC card, no adapter.

I doubt that there would be room for a full-size SD card in that position, and there would be no advantage in using SD instead of microSDHC internally in any case. It's the external SDHC support which appears to have the "write error" bugs... in one case, a 16Gb microSD card was observed (in the external slot with an adapter) to show the disk write error, only for that error to go away when the same card (sans adapteur) was erased and re-used for the internal microSDHC upgrade.

I haven't tried the new firmware, so am basing this on Kobo wi-fi version 1.7.4; certainly this would be easier if Kobo did fix their bugware to properly handle external SDHC cards.

well the advantage of full size is you could use a 4gb card that is NOT SDHC so it would bypass the SDHC problem.

but no it would fit me thinks. I think the adapter is almost as thick as the entire kobo :-)

...which wouldn't make any real difference if internal microSDHC doesn't currently have this particular problem.

It's only external SDHC which was giving the disk write errors, from what I've tested.
