Amazon's Android App Store: Steve Jobs Just Doesn't Get It By JR Raphael, PCWorld Mar 17, 2011 3:18 PM Amazon Android App StoreCourtesy AndroidNews.de - Click to enlargeRoll out the welcome wagon, Android fans: It looks like you'll soon have a new place to shop. Amazon may be days away from launching its Android app store, if recent signs are any indication. The company briefly had its storefront online this week, as discovered by German website AndroidNews.de. The blog had the bright idea to pull up amazon.com/apps; there, it found a page entitled "Appstore for Android" with a list of 48 "top-selling" applications. ..... http://www.pcworld.com/article/22246...nt_get_it.html |

With the Google Android Market the apps are sold to your Google ID not your phone so if you change phones you don't loose your apps where as if you buy from outside the google Market like from Gameloft your app is tied to a device one of the reasons I am unwilling to buy from outside the Google Market despite the fact I can't buy from inside the market as I don't have credit card.

I'm not married to "Android", "Apple", or X or Y products, but any device that is good and serves me well. So, as long as this promotes more and better apps. with lower prices... that is going to be fantastic for me and other users for sure! |

Why not go get one of those pre-paid Visa cards from Target (or wherever you'd be able to find them, anyhow)? My friend used the hell out of one to make his app purchases when he got one for Christmas.

Not only that, but if you have two or more Android devices, you can buy it once and use it on all of your gadgets. I have Touchdown and GolfCard Pro on both my HTC EVO 4G and my Samsung Galaxy Tab, and don't even still own the phone that I bought them for. Unfortunately, GolfCard doesn't scale well to the SGT; hopefully the dev will fix that as more tabs emerge. Also with the recent malware fiasco, I believe I'll be sticking with the Android Marketplace. | |

I don't get peoples weird obsession with Jobs. He's made his choices and they've worked out well for him. You have other choices to...exercise them and become a success yourself.

Society is always fascinated with those who have the ability to hold others in thrall - Hitler, Stalin, Jim Jones, Jobs...

"ability to enthrall" ? hmm... what about marketing strategies or leadership? ... Persuasion is a common thing on all human being leaders. While I don't share most of his strategies, he certainly has some leadership capabilities, hence some persuasion skills. You can lead someone to buy a product...or ... to kill thousand of innocent people ... |
