A "Super Moon" will rise in the east at sunset on Saturday evening. This unusually large full moon -- known as a super "perigee moon" -- will be the biggest in almost 20 years, according to NASA.

About 8 pm in Germany, I think it should be almost the same in the Netherlands.

A Full Moon is directly opposite to the Sun in the sky, and hence rises around sunset.

Hmm, I didn't mean when the moon will rise but when it will be nearest to the earth (and hence be biggest).

It's annoying that they won't say something useful like what percent larger apparent diameter it will have compared to a more typical full moon. At least, I didn't see it when I skimmed.

At its closest on Saturday night, the moon will pass by Earth at a distance of about 221,567 miles.

at 15 mpg that would be 15,000 gallons or a couple of Tanker Trucks full.

Okay, wikipedia says the average distance is 238,500 or so. So the full moon will be about 15% larger in diameter than average. I'm not sure that's enough for me to notice but I'll take a gander anyway. Thanks, Kenny.
