I'd like to see the Media taken to court and sued for 'Causing Mental Anguish.' As I said before, I'm getting many e-mails every day from friends and family around the world, asking if;
I have drinking water
Our phones are working
We have electricity
I am able to reach the airport
I am ready to evacuate my home
We have taken adequate precautions against the high radiation levels
etc., etc., etc....

Very kind and caring, but we live almost a thousand miles away from the small area affected by the tsunami... All of Japan and the rest of Asia have NOT been inundated by the tsunami! And the radiation levels have never even approached the danger level measured for ONE YEAR OF EXPOSURE much less for a quick dose. Japan is about 150,000 sq miles. Less than 700 sq miles were affected. The other 149,300 sq miles are just fine. But the world doesn't get that message from the media.

Perhaps one good multi-million dollar law suit might make the media take a more responsible approach, one where the facts were more important than the Gallup Poll ratings.

Exactly, it is all about saying whatever they can to get people to watch so they increase their ratings. Regardless of whether or not it is meaningless drivel that is just short of blatant lies. They aren't much better than the tabloids anymore.

Never happen. Unfortunately they use those tactics because they work. The majority of everyday people get all of their information from whatever media happens to be on at the time and put forth no extra effort to find out anything more than what is pushed at them. In most people's eyes Japan is an island, islands are small, the earthquake and tsunami were big, therefor all of Japan must have been affected.

I'm feeling very cynical today .....

thanks

oh, just bad news in general. also, i'm tired of my parents' perception that if you're just a tiny bit optimistic/idealistic, that you're not being mature and realistic. it pisses me off, quite honestly. mmm i want a kitty, but i don't want to clean up after her, so no go for me

oh oh and when there are times that i'm pessimistic, they tell me i'm too negative!

drives a daughter nuts, i tell ya

tell me the secrets of parenthood

you could always try BF Skinner's methods 'behavioral engineering' and all that. it sounds strange but people unconsciously do it all the time

It's true, haven't you ever thought you didn't know something, but when you needed it you actually knew what you previously thought you didn't know?

I have two lap-tops and each has that same mouse. They have been going

for six months on each of them.

It's merely a case of remembering to switch them off when not in use.
