It is an old trick. And very very nice if you are thirsty and do not want sugar or alcool. I have two nice vinegars that I can use as quenchers, the pear and the elder that it is even nicer, but I treasure it as it was a gift and I do not know how to get it.

I an still under the cultural shock of your refectory. BTW, did you see the Godfather 2? If yes there is a walking portrait of me going around in that movie, especially to day that I had a blue coat, a blue teeshirt under a blue sweater, a blue scarf that enveloped me up to the ears and a blue fedora hat, blue slacks of course and and a black messenger bag. I guess you were feeling blue today. At least the bag was black ... No, I haven't seen the Godfather movies, but I've been planning to for a couple of years.

The refectory ... it's really no big deal. Just a room with tables. A couple of fridges. A microwave. Surely they have them in Italy too? I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow, when I go down there to get my morning snack

Maybe refectory isn't the correct term, but it was the only word google translate offered. We call it a 'refter', but I guess 'place with tables and chairs where we eat our lunch' is more accurate

I translated it, just in case. Russian dictionary has given me two definitions .
One is what we think it is dining room in college (cafeteria; dining hall; (in the Army, Navy) mess)
However, another meaning is .......a place of eating in monastery (for men)!
