Excellent book. Just finished this (admittedly skimmed a bit) but excellent in all it's direction and detail for non-fiction writers.

Started The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society this morning and have managed to knock almost half of it off.

Thanks to a recommendation from bevdeforges after I read 84, Charing Cross Road.

Book lovers will love this novel.

I liked all three of the Hunger Game books, but I think it was the second book I liked least. I think the general consensus is that the third is the worst, however.

I don't feel like sharing the last book I just read... hopefully I'll want to share the next one

I have been putting off reading the Hunger Games for a while too, but I'm really glad I started reading. I'm about halfway through the first book, and it's really good!

I'm glad you like the Riyria Revelations I though the first book was the weakest, the following books are much much better!

It sounds very interesting. I'll add it to my wish list, although it's not available in the UK yet.

I just finished indie author K.E. Redmond's novel What Time Forgets: The Daughters of Ard Creggan. I've never really given independent authors much of a shot, so I fully expected atrocious (sorry, I know that's very judgmental of me) but ended up with pleasantly enjoyable instead. Sure, I tripped over some awkward pacing or prose on rare occasions, but overall... I liked the characters and the story enough to keep reading. And I loved the price-tag. This won't be the last unknown I take a chance on.

I rambled a little more about this scifi/fantasy/speculative hybrid on my website.

I'm currently catching up on some short stories from Ray Gun Revival, Lightspeed, and James Schmitz' Telzey Amberdon collection.

Been reworking my way through Outliers Drive: The Life Mover, How to Think Big and Do Great. Very interesting book! Kind of a blend of business/life/psychology.

The intro is not the best, but afterwards, is crammed full of useful info and ideas on how to get things done in work and life. The case studies are also very informative and fun.

So very interesting.

Always looking for new books on personal productivity and getting things done from a sort of business angle.

Finally, finished Emissaries From the Dead. I was struggling with it. The ending stunk like a skunk.

Not sure what I'll read next. Need time to recover after that ... thing.

Oh. I'm sorry to hear that. I rather liked it myself. I suppose the one thing that discussions like this thread help us to understand is that taste in literature varies a great deal.

So glad you're enjoying it! I'm starting up a "Book Talk" group in our newcomers group based on the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. We'll see how it goes.
