um..what does the original kobo have that we don't? As far as I understood, it brought the original up to the wifi's abilities, minus the wifi.

We're currently in development on a next version for Kobo Wifi. We will be making select beta invites in the next few weeks, but there currently isn't a beta running.

Thanks for your interest and we'll keep you in mind when we start looking for beta testers.

There are some small changes related to power management options (never off, for example) that is currently only in the original Kobo Reader. We hope to include those in the next Kobo Wifi update.

...just picked up one from Borders (batt's going on my PRS-505 so the kobo is a good stopgap when the 505 dies completely and I'm awaiting a replacement battery) and plan on using it as much as possible for the time being as there are battery concerns(apparently), but I'd be willing to be a guinea pig for new fw... (esp IF it had something like, say a GOTO PAGE # function, and maybe an open browser.)

Browser: yeah I know that it wouldn't be all that useful but there'd be times when I'd probably prefer to have that option "officially" rather than working around existing fw to make it work otherwise.

Another thing that would be nice is a backup/recovery function like clockwork mod for Android devices. It's REALLY nice and would likely make using betas potentially less painful.

(Time to go visit the wishlist thread I think...)

Just to be clear this is a Kobo-WiFi although the browser comment should've made that obvious...

Hey JCKobo,

Been a few weeks was wondering if the beta is in testing at the moment? Do you think you could list the changes/defect fixes? I am a test manager so have great experience in the testing space. Let me know if you require some assistance.

If we receive a go-to page function then this will be ebook reader will be complete!
