Thank you for your helpful reply. It's really helped me make up my mind (in case you didn't realize, I'm being sarcastic right now).
It's an LCD screen, it's not going to be good in sunlight. You must be so smart (I'm being sarcastic now too).

While no backlit LCDs are good in direct sunlight, some are better than others in daylight and it's a fair question to ask whether one can read one on the bus with sunlight coming in the windows.

I haven't tried mine in a similar situation (wrong time of year for that here) but I have managed to read outside (albeit not well) on my Palm T|X at the National Mall in DC during summer.

I just don't know how much ambient light you can have and still get legibility out of the NC's screen.

I have read on my nookcolor while walking outside in the seattle winter sun (a bit gray). I had to turn up the brightness all the way but it worked without making me cry.

Again, there are differences . You turned a perfectly good thread into a hostile one. If you don't have any actual advice to offer, then why post? Everyone else offered detailed advice and opinions except for you. Now, you're going on ignore. But thanks for your unwanted "LCD can't be read in sunlight" post.

I gave you advice, you were just too full of yourself to take the advice.

I've read on my Nook Color outside in sunlight many times. Like said in the quote above, just crank the brightness and it works like a champ.

I read my nook color in my car at noon while waiting to pick my son up from preschool and I have no problems, even on a sunny day.
