Once in Settings, move to later pages. ( think it will be page 2 on DX ) Just below the Date/Time - is language setup. Select the last option - of the 3 ( Ch.simpified, Ch.traditional, English ) And voilà ! ![]() |

More fonts, more options for reading. That's good

a) Has anything changed with the new music player? The new version is the first for me and I can't get the player working. I made a DK_Music folder in the root directory and put MP3s in there, but whenever I start the player it says "No file" and quits. Restarting didn't help.
b) Is there any way to disable WiFi? c) Any way to get a smaller font? I'm using "PMN Caecilia LT 65 Medium" and it's still a little to big for me on the smallest setting. As much as I like the home menu with its lists, I still prefer the original Kindle software for plain reading. |

a) I think that the DK_Music folder doesnt work. So put your music in your regular music folder and then it will be read.
b) I don't remember right now c) Maybe trying another one from the available fonts? |

a) amazed you would ask, as it should be self-explanatory. You can select music folder or single songs, and change playing mode, etc.
b) yes, turn it off or on - self explanatory too.. c) select font, and you may choose size settings for menus, etc. In the Settings menu. As long as you know how to get the English text back if you should change it to Chinese, then there is nothing in the system settings you should be afraid of playing with. There is a new feature that have text displayed above the on/off settings: - earlier you could play music and when the screensaver came on, it would continue to play. You could also have it play while in fbkindle, etc. Now you can have it stop playing when screensaver timeout occur. |

The wi-fi option is the first from the top when you press Menu.
About the font I think he says that the smallest size is not small enough for him. The "kindle" font and the PMN Caecilia LT66 when set to the smallest font are small enough I think. And a question. I have my pdfs in folders in the DK and I only use them from there. However I'd like to have access to my books from the original Kindle system. Is there any way that I can have them organized in DK without having to copy them in both folders (losing much space)? Because when I use the "Kindle list" in DK, the files are not as in the original Kindle OS in collections, but are all together. Last edited by GlassX; 03-09-2011 at 08:27 AM. |

Hi,
I tried to install the new version on fw 3.1, but I continue getting ‘update unsuccessful’ messages. I haven’t had previous Duokan versions, so I don’t know what the problem might be, but I do everything as written in the instructions. Any suggestions? Thanks! |

Hm... Let's see:
Did you copy all the K3 bin files in the root directory? Did you copy the DK folders? Did you press Q quickly? |

Thanks for the quick response.
I tried both with all 3 bin files than (after that failed) only with the one that corresponds with my Kindle (update_duokan_0b006). I copied all 3 DK folders. I didn't press q, because I didn't even have the possibility to choose from the OSs, as the update failed, and the device just simply restarted (in fact I tried to press q during restart anyway, with no result of course ![]() |

I had the same problem with unsuccessful update. I had to uninstall jailbreak and then I had a success. If you are jailbreaked try this.

Do you think it is possible to install jailbreak after Duokan again to make both of them work?

actually, you do not have to install the Duokan.
As andy explained here (http://www.the-ebook.org/forum/viewt...=617444#617444) it is enough to copy some files over. |

Answering to my question some posts before:
If you have your books in the Kindle OS and you dont want to delete them from there or duplicate them in the DK folders, you can just move them to DK subfolders and they work. So at the Home screen you can use the Categories view without having to have them all mixed up. So, I have another question now. Has anyone noticed the battery consumption with Duokan? It seems to me that it drains the battery faster than the original OS. Maybe it's because when you press the Aa you see a % of the battery and it makes me think that it decreases quickly. |
