My mother had dementia and last year at this time it was clear that my dad could no longer take care of himself much less both of them. So my brother and his wife offered to look after Mom in their home while Dad wanted to move into a private room in a nursing home. Mom died in her bed last fall never having to leave family. I thought that was pretty remarkable of my brother and his wife. I cannot imagine the time and effort and patience it took. I wish we could all go that way but without burdening others to do it.

that's true. but it hurts me sometimes when i hear some of my family talking about other people like ...for example, a young couple and then one became crippled and they feel bad for the one taking care of the person. i understand but...what about the cripple? they have feelings too, and i should think that when they took those wedding vows of staying together through sickness and health, that they meant it.

I'm still ticked off because we're now 11 years past 2,000 and still very few flying cars. In the old Tommy Tomorrow comics, everyone had a flying car.

hmm a friend of mine showed me her new kobo reader yesterday. i was very impressed with the screen; the kindle should be amazing, then

gee! how I hate those Korean music bands. they look sick, and all they can do is so-called dancing! why do the youth in Asia admire them? their singing sucks.

the reason for this offensive post is that three students are dancing on the stage in "Korean style" in front of me and I think it's ridiculous.

As a Westerner Canto-pop, Korean-pop and music of that ilk confuses the bejaysus out of me.....Wondergirls, Chiliam.

My moan is jeans that seem to begin half way down the persons arse, with the crotch at knee level showing off the wearers undercrackers. Yes I am too old to even contemplate this mode of attire, and having watching some baffoon try and 'hop' over a set of railings and looking instead like Danny De Vito as The Penguin I LOL'ed big time

I was in a mall years ago with my father and a younger cousin who thought he was gangsta and wore the crotch of his jeans down around his knees. While we were shopping my father was kidding my cousin saying that if he didn't pull up his pants my father would.
So we are at the mall for a couple of hours and my father decides to make good on his promise, he sees my cousin looking at more crotch dragging jeans and quietly walks up behind him and lifts my cousin off his feet pulling the pants up, unfortunately my cousin was behind my father and was laughing at the look of utter disbelief on the kids face who seconds ago had his jeans forcefully pulled up. Luckily my father is a rather big fellow who would stare down a grizzly, while praying it wouldn't attack and being ready to run like hell. The young fellow who's pants were so unceremoniously yanked up around his ears just backed away and decided the best course would be to let it go, my father was actually quite apologetic about the whole thing.

Now when ever I see one of these kids I want to help pull their pants up as well

I don't actually do it, sheesh that could be dangerous
