What material is the gelaskin made of and more importantly how does it feel? I assume it's some kind of rubber so does it have a sticky/rough feel to it or is it a smooth finish? I like the way the Nook feels now and don't really want to change that but the Gelaskins are just so pretty and the ability to design some of my own is too much to pass up. Although if it's going to make the Nook all gummy feeling and pick up every piece of lint, dirt and cat hair in a 10 mile radius I'd rather suffer with a plain looking Nook.

The Kindle 2 has a slick feel. The Gelskin adds friction so that it isn't as apt to slide out of your hand. I haven't tried one on my Nook.

Previously posted in the "Introduce Yourself" section...

Hello. As makers of the BookArmor line of products, we frequently read the posts here on MobileRead to get a feel for how our products are being received in the market. We truly appreciate all of your posts and often try to incorporate your suggestions and complaints into our new designs.

Today, I am appealing to the community of MobileRead for help. A very unhappy customer has posted a negative review for BookArmor on the Amazon and Amazon UK sites. This customer did not purchase directly from us, and has never contacted us for assistance. Instead, he took his grievance to the public, without even giving us a chance to make things right for him. He is using the BookArmor for the BeBook Neo, yet has posted his review on all of our product listings: Nook, Cybook, Sony, Kindle, Novel, et al. For many of our listings, his negative review is the only one posted, giving a very one-sided view of the product.

If you have any experience with the BookArmor line of products, I implore you to visit either of the Amazon.com sites and post a review of your BookArmor. You do not have to have purchased your BookArmor from Amazon to post a review. While glowing reviews would be most appreciated, we're really looking for objective viewpoints to help balance his negative posting.

Again, we appreciate all of your comments, good and bad, as they guide us in our development of new products. We would welcome any comments from the MobileRead community.

Oberon covers are beautiful. Here's the one I bought for my Nook (from the Oberon website):

Now they have covers for the iPad.

Those Oberon covers are fantastic looking. It's too bad that they don't offer a Necronomicon cover, complete with an Elder Sign fastener.

I bought a protective case for mine and I'm pleased with it so far. Was about $14 on eBay.

I bought one of vintagecovers custom covers from Etsy! Here it is! I absolutely love it! It is the perfect size and really sturdy & well made. I just wanted something simple and cool, without pockets and stuff, and this cover is just right for me!

Why a simple sleeve is best

These covers are fine I guess, but they make the Nook heavier and bulkier and that is not the idea of an ereader in the first place, in my opinion. I prefer something like a case I can store it safely in and take out when I am reading and hold the Nook itself. I purchased a simple sleeve for $7.95 including shipping at http://nuvo-tek.com and I am very happy with it. Besides the very low price, it fits the Nook just right.

Just my two cents worth.
