Did you read about how they 'mature' it? Apparently they bury it in something akin to compost piles, turning it when required to keep it from breaking down too much... I found the 'compost pile' reference to be right in keeping with the taste of most of the sample pu-erhs that I received from NBT. I was fortunate in that I only ordered sample packets and not 100g containers of each!

I have a bag of cheap unbranded touchas that I bought in a Chinese shop that make a nice cup of pu-erh. But they are only something that I would want to drink when I'm making Chinese food for dinner, just to keep me in the mood. Actually, for that I prefer Tsingtao beer!

07.20 actually ... I'm not good at sleeping in. Even on weekends I wake up a little after my 'normal' hour (around 6.45) and then can't get to sleep anymore. I'm a terrible sleeper

Just went for a run, I'm on my second glass of water.

Oh yeah: my hormones are playing up again, but not in the way they were before. Or is that too cryptic ?

I'm not good at sleeping in either. I woke up at 7 and stayed in bed for another hour or so, tapping away on my iPad.
Take care with those hormones; not everything is what is seems to be. Ahem....perhaps also a bit cryptic.

Ladies....being a bit cryptic is your second nature

Welcome to the site and the thread.

astra: I tried your doubling technique for my Mushroom Pu Erh and it helped a bit but was still not my favorite. Good but I prefer regular green tea to the uncooked Pu Erh. I couldn't cut back the steeping time since the steeping time is already 20-30 seconds.

hehehehe

That doesn't bother me. The cooked stuff tastes great. The uncooked tastes a bit boring to me.

I wonder if white tea drinkers would like green pu erh.

Green Pu-Erh is not my cuppa.
I gave up on it. Cooked Pu-Erh only. The stronger earthy flavour the better. Tuochas I have tried so far are nice but...a bit too much on a mellow side.

I am falling in love even more with Chine black teas. This morning I drank two cups of the same tea one after another! It is very unusual for me. The East India Company's Emperors Yunnan

I convinced (surprise! surprise!) my better 37/45 to drink Hendrick's Gin without a tonic but Stitchawl's way. 1/2 of the glass ice cubes, then 3/4 gin. Only I have suggest to forgo doing it in 12oz glass. You know...we got to go to work tomorrow? So, it will be in 5-6oz tall glass.

I have consumed 32 ounces of Darjeeling Avongrove on this rainy Sunday. I think I will have some Lapsong (sp) in a few minutes while finishing Kim Harrison's lastest book, Pale Demons. I can't help it, I am a sucker for witches, elves, vampires, and fairies. I read more then enough serious crap while in graduate school and can still lecture on about 15 subjects from memory. I am going to enjoy many years of silly stuff. (winks)

I received today a daily newsletter sort of a-word-of-the-day.
Quote:

Does it ring the bell?

A cup of Fortnum & Mason’s Chai.
I am not going to rave about it, but it is nice!
