i have a perverse sense of humor. and sometimes, a cruel streak o_o

i also freak out my sister whenever i study, because i usually have to talk to myself to consolidate theories and other stuff. then my sister would hear me and ask why can't i just think it over in my mind, and well, if i did it that way, i wouldn't remember it

wyndlash a coder I know told that his boss told them to put a small rubber duck on their desks and in case of appearing problems first talk to the duck since he got tired of them showing up at his place wanting to discuss some problems with tasks the currently worked on and then stopping in the mid saying "never mind, i see it now"

it may help in solving when temporarily reorganize the task you work on, into speech patterns.
so what you do isn't strange at all.

when i was a smoker, I would solve a LOT of technical repair issues by going outside to have a smoke and talk to the sky about what the issues were

I prefer to solve equipment issues with a little percussive maintenance, I remember the days when MFM Drives would "Stall" and a little tap with the handle of the screw driver would free them up.

I always give a defect thing a good kick, PC or such, ereader etc.
