I like my Kindle a lot, too. I've got lots of books, and I've been reading stuff I would never have done otherwise. But the other day I found myself thinking "I want to read a real book right now".

Not sure what that says about me.

I have Water for Elephants in paperback, but have not had a chance to read it yet....if it were on my Kindle, it would be finished by now!

I kind of get upset if a particular book is not available on Kindle. Wow, how it has changed my way of thinking!

Now, when I hear about a new book I might want to read, I immediately look it up to see if it is on Kindle. Love the samples too!

I too get quite upset when I can't find a legal copy to buy and read on an electric device.

Luckily they often is found on the piratebay.. I don't have any problems downloading stuff that aren't for sale.

I love being able to care around all my tech books and it still only weighs less than a pound.

I love my Kindle too. I have recently ordered one for my son and am eagerly checking the tracking on it. It is almost as exciting as when I followed the journey of my own first one back in October.

I also dislike having to look up the random obsure word in a...dictionary. I usually just make up my own definition for those words instead of bothering to look it up :-)

I don't like paperbooks anymore either. After having read ebooks for over a year, last week I bought a paperback just for a change. I didnt like it at all. I didn't like the font or the layout of the text. I also found it too much of an effort to keep the book open. I didn't get very far with it.

know what you mean. I started reading David Weber's 'Honor Harrington' series. (By the way the first two book are free at Baen's free library: www.baen.com) went to purchase the third installment...... not available in e-reader format.
I guess I will be reading paperback books again.

Funny thing, at church I'm known as the techy-guy. Because I get just about every new device that comes out. When the Pastor passed out a book to our Men's study group to use, I right away got out my Droid, went to Amazon, bought the book and sent it to my Kindle, iPad, Droid, PC and laptop. I gave back the book and told him I wouldn't be needing the print version. Since then four other guys in the study group went out and ordered Kindles.

Wasn't sure I'd like it...

When I bought the K3 I left myself the "out" of thinking I could just sell it if I hated it. And at first, I did. Having once set type for a living (and having paginated newsletters and books using PageMaker and QuarkXPress) I was endlessly frustrated by the problems of books that were very badly prepared for the Kindle -- including those whose electronic versions do not support all of the Kindle's features. There were terrible typographic problems. I gritted my teeth and made my way through those books, eventually learning the lesson: download the sample first! I finally realized that the worst-prepared books aren't the worst due to some inherent flaw in the device, but rather due to the publishers' inexperience (or inattention).

My first reservations and frustrations aside, I really like this thing. I've done more reading in the last few months than I had in the previous year. Among other features, the dictionary look-up feature, while not perfect, is a huge "plus."

This technology is in its infancy. It will be fascinating to see how it improves over time.

I always carried a book on the subway, but with the price on the K3 and the lightness of it, I folded. There are certain books that have their text too far into in the binding, and it's a nightmare when you're surrounded by people and trying not to fall down. The good thing about a book is you can drop it without freaking out.
