Guess I can put the old Leather bound copy on Ebay now - that was a heavy book to hold.

Hasn't the Dune series been available for quite a while in eBook form? I was under the impression that it had.

Thank you, Jon; that must be what I was thinking of. I've just checked my FW bookshelf, and it was October last year that I bought "Dune" itself. I was never impressed with the later books in the series, so didn't bother checking for those.

Dune had been available - but pulled twice (that I'm aware of) for major problems with formatting issues (omitted scenes, etc.). Folks might want to check the newly available edition to see if these have all been corrected.

Where did you purchase your copies that have problems?

I choked when I saw the Kindle price for the original - $15.99. I love the book but I can't bring myself to shell that much out for another copy.

The ePrice of the original Dune is ridiculous. I was going to buy Dune Messiah, but at $7.99 it's also a bit steep, and I noticed there's some formatting problems on the sample (the first paragraph of every chapter is not indented). So for now I'll stick with my paperback of it and Children of Dune, which I got for a dollar each (used).

Which is too bad, because having Kindle versions would actually inspire me to read them (which I've failed to do so far)!

It is correctly formatted, in that case. You are not supposed to indent the first paragraph of a chapter - look at any printed book.
