Conversion error
Hi there,
for a couple of weeks I get this annoying error message everytime I want to fetch The Economist or The New York Times. Can anyone give me some advice on how to resolve this? Hi sesone
I have the same problem, yet unresolved. How do you fix the IE proxy settings in calibre? Thank you very much! |

You don't. You fix them in the IE settings or in the control panel.

Thanks, Manichean. How do I get to the IE settings? And what does "IE" stands for anyway?

Internet Explorer. Depends on your OS and your version of IE, look for something called internet settings or somesuch.

Hey Sesone, may you please tell me what you've exactly adjusted in your Internet Explorer? I can't make up any problems, the explorer works fine, so does the OS, even the news fetching works perfectly but for "The Economist"...
I guess it must be a minuscule problem easy to resolve which is unfortunately well hidden. Manichean, thank you for your help, appreciate it very much. |

If you can use the internet normally, but the Economist recipe fails to download, there's probably something wrong with the recipe. Do other recipes work? Do you use the default, pre-installed recipe? Can you reach the feed address using a browser?

Yes, I've installed Calibre today without changing anything. First I chose the latest version but as I continued to have problems fetching news I changed to an older version (namely 0.7.47) which I already had used before.
Except for the economist, I fetch Le Monde, NZZ online and Polityka. All three without troubles. Thank you and your team for your efforts at this point! I'll send you the error output. Maybe this will help. |

You need to wait a day.

That error indicates that there are no new articles to download. As Kovid already said, you'll need to wait for new articles to appear.
