I would not compare a Nook Color against an iPad. if you are comparing as a pure ereader, which of course are not, both are tablets, an iPad provides a better reading experience: bigger screen and no need to hack. And Android is not a toy Os. Based on your comment, it looks like you have not used it extensively. Android is based in Linux and is much more stable and faster than Windows out of the box; is the same kernel, but the UI is optimized for tablets. The only thing I can't do on Android that I can on Windows is running and administer my SQL databases, the rest...everything... Ohh... Forgot to mention, Netflix. 7 inches is just too small for PDFs and magazines. The pictures are just too small.

I watched the keynote today and yes, there are improvements internally which is great for gamers and others who need the extra boost, speed, and ram. Cameras? Big deal. Appears to be the same as the ones in my Ipod Touch, so no sale there. They glossed over iBooks but did say it now contains thousands of ebooks. I forget the exact number. 65,000 iPad apps, wow! The 3G models will be either AT&T or Verizon. I think you have to choose which one you want when you purchase it so no changing your mind later on. And then there's two colors to choose from, black or white. Nix on the white! I hated the white frame on the Kindle! Black bezel makes for a much better experience for your eyes. Afterall, who has a white framed TV? Ah,... nobody! |

I don't care how the roads are, as long as they're smooth. I eventually spend most of my time in the buildings.

Thinner is a mistake; and it's still 10", which is too large. 7" is a more convenient size for carrying around.

No USB interface, no need for more speed, hence, I won't be upgrading. In fact given apple's behavior relative to reader apps lately, I'll be downgrading to a K3 for 139 bucks!!! |

I suspect the iPad's new thinness is also responsible for its mediocre camera set.
