Not impressed with the specs they've announced. Seriously, it just seems like they should have called it the iPad 1.1 moreso. Eh, wasn't going to get one anyway so it doesn't matter.

It's missing one of the key features I love about its predecessor: the gorgeous shape and feel of the iPad's back. I don't like the look of the new covers, and thinner will probably mean less comfortable to my hands. Lighter, on the other hand, is a small benefit.

Of course, the increases in power are a good thing, as long as the battery-life is unaffected as they say. Still, I only have a passing interest in games, and then only really 2D silly time-killers, so this won't make me consider upgrading. An increase in screen resolution would really be the only thing that might have made up for the less robust form-factor, for me.

Those last two items are on the Original Flavor iPad. You can lock the screen so it won't rotate, and I play the piano on mine frequently.

I was always under the impression that magnets and computers were a bad combination. I guess they know what they're doing, but the idea makes me uncomfortable.
