I see your point.

But sometimes a little bit of a tea "ceremony" or "ritual" is a nice way to punctuate a busy day. Maybe it's a brief escape. Before I retired, I was in the habit of having a least a morning and an afternoon tea event in my office. The tea preparation was at least as important to me as the enjoyment I found in the beverage.

Then again, there are times when you just want the darn tea, without the pomp and circumstance.

Oh great & powerful teasists -- I am nearing the end of my sample packs -- and contemplating gutting my credit cards again to support the global economy and my new habit.

Are there any tea varieties that are reputed to help with headache pain? I am a lifelong migraine sufferer, and would like to find some remedies for the low-grade migraines (where I can sit up & function - it just feels like someone is drilling a screwdriver through an eye socket) so I don't have to always resort to narcotic (legally prescribed) painkillers that "dumb" me up.

Any suggestions or informational sources would be appreciated.

I know that the effects of some medications, such as aspirin, are increased by the addition of caffeine, but I don't know if that holds true for migraine meds. Imperial Gunpowder tea, Keemun tea, and China Black all tend to be higher caffeine teas (not to mention tasting pretty damn good ) so perhaps may help. But for all I really know, caffeine is contraindicated for migraine... Sorry.

Actually caffeine (and sugar) are highly recommended - to stop a developing migraine attack! An old standby treatment was to drink orange juice or a Coke and eat a chocolate bar. The blast of caffeine & sugar can sometimes derail a developing headache!

Did you learn about it reading 'Centennial?' It was Alexander McKeage's tea of choice.

Actually it was recommended to me - [I am a single malt whiskey fan - esp. of the Islay varieties] - as being the tea with a "smoky" flavor comparable to that of whiskeys with a high level of peat flavoring.

Hmm tried the 'Healthworks Self-Heal Spike Drink' with Momordica Fruit, Liquorice and Pagodatree Flower Bud.....not a fan.

However the 'Healthworks Preserved Jujube, Almond and Pear Drink' with the above plus figs is alright.

Nope, he wasn't on the train. I was secretly relieved, I would have chickened out anyway

Just ignore everyone teasing you, it'll happen when it happens!
