He is smaller than Sooty, but not as much as that picture suggests. Must be the angle, as you said.

Sorry, forgot to reply to that. I got a HTC Tattoo because it was cheap(er) and looked good (always a critical factor for me). To be honest, there isn't much wrong with it except that it's not an iThingie, and I am used to my iTouch and love it and not feeling especially motivated to learn how to get the best of Android. So I use the Tattoo as a phone only, except in the few cases when I need to use Google Maps or to check my mail or MR while travelling. For the rest I still use the iTouch (which is why it's becoming a bit crowded).

I can understand the frustrations with iTunes, but personally I like it, I'm used to it and it's perfect for my needs. Also I am a long time Mac user, and although I do feel annoyed sometimes at their control-freak attitude, I also know there's something in it for me, namely stable and easy to use systems for my computer and mobile device.

By the way, I just updated the songs on my iTouch and I must say the Music settings look very versatile to me. You can check playlists, artists, genres and albums to include them, and you can also drag individual songs to the iPod to copy them. That's enough for me!

Watching Ghost Hunt tv series. Which I like to call the Creaking Door show because almost every door the two ghost hunters open creaks spectacularly.

Trying to point out on another forum that the Amazon does indeed charge a $2 whispernet fee for the Kindle depending on your location. Looks like I'm failing in my attempt since the screenshots I took showing the $2 difference between US and non-US price has a message stating "Free international delivery via Amazon Whispernet". That apparently proofs there's no whispernet fee.

Does anyone have a link for a page on Amazon itself stating there's a $2 whispernet fee provided you aren't in selected region where it's free (US, and now UK as well it seems)?

Amazon is now very careful to avoid calling it what it is. There's only so much you can do.

Thanks for the offer, but I can quite easily change regions.

Here's what I've discovered:

Retail Title (The Technician)

United States - $6.66
United Kingdom - $7.78
Australia - $6.66
Africa - $8.66
Asia - $8.66
Canada - $6.66
Europe - $9.96
India - $8.66
Latin Am - $8.66
Middle East - $8.66

For free title (Lost Tribe of the Sith: Sentinel)

United States - $0.00
United Kingdom - $1.13
Australia - $0.00
Africa - $2.00
Asia - $2.00
Canada - $0.00
Europe - $2.30
India - $2.00
Latin Am - $2.00
Middle East - $2.00

So it seems that Africa, Asia, Europe, India, Latin America and the Middle East are still paying the "surcharge".

Yeah, I guess it's true. It was just surprising since this person was completely under the impression that there's no whispernet fee regardless of where you are.

I "bought" two free books at Amazon and didn't pay anything. I don't use Whispernet, I downloaded them to my iPod, maybe that explains it.

Do you tell Amazon that you're in France, or do you pretend to be in the US? If the latter, that would explain the lack of Whispernet fees added into the ebook price.

I fall in the Europe category (I'm in Germany). Perhaps the shipping is free, but they charge for... the time they ship?

They've got my true address in France. I also have a shipping address in the US (my sister's) but I don't think that counts.

Edit: also, I don't have a Kindle, only the Kindle apps for iPod Touch and Mac. So no Whispernet. I think.
