Now I'm starting to understand why you think school is just as hard and exhausting as working life. We always had a whole weekend and wednesday afternoon off. At university I always had at least one whole day to myself.

Yep, it's vrije tijd in my language. Flemish is my mother language, I speak a little 'walloon' (french basically) but I don't speak it well. I wish we could understand the walloons, it would make life in Belgium a lot easier

@Stichtawl: I think bear grease would be best for dry skin, but a bit hard to come by in the low countries.
@Iridal: we had school on saturday till well in the sixties; my father, who was a teacher had to work 6 1/2 days a week.
Lately there's been schooling on sunday being offered to ' underprivileged' but also for children that want to learn some more, like languages, grammar, astrology, art, music and such.
@Beppe: wouldn't you agree that little girls are just the cutest beings. When my daughter was little, I dressed her up like a doll: little white sock with ruffles, black shiny shoes, little pink dresses with frills and little strawhats in summer. And she got everything from her father by just looking at him and using her little eyes and smile. He was like wax in her litte hands.
@Anh: you seem to work hard, but don't forget to enjoy yourself, you're only young once!
