That works up to a point, if you go over some esoterically determined amount they charge an exoterically determined “penalty” which amounts to “interest” on your “loan”.

That being said, we’re waiting for Susie to be officially declared disabled; which should have significant tax ramifications. She just received a lump sum from Social Security, with no explanation of why; but we are assuming that her annuity was retroactively changed from “early retirement” to “disabled”, and the explanation is in the mail.

Never mind that she’s been wheelchair bound for several years now, and our 2008 exemptions included nearly $100K of handicapped enabled vehicles, wheelchairs, home modifications, etc. etc. etc. We still had to trudge through the bureaucracy.

Hope its not much. My tax accountant told me that he was advised the refunds are going to be paid late.

Already got mine. I filed about 2/1 or so but was told it wouldn't be accepted til 2/15 got the refund on Tue. 2/22 by auto deposit.
