Zwei Lebensgeschichten. Zum einen:

Alexandra Morton: Die Sinfonie der Wale
Der erste Teil (ca. 3/4 des Buches) handelt von den Walbeobachtungen der Autorin an der kanadischen Pazifikküste und ist einfach faszinierend, insbesondere beeindruckt die Klugheit dieser Tiere. Im zweiten Teil haben Lachsfarmen die Wale (und fast alle anderen Fische auch) verdrängt/vertrieben, dieses Viertel ist nur noch deprimierend und wütendmachend.

Zur Aufmunterung brauche ich dann ein Märchen voller Abenteuer, Mut, Großzügigkeit und Liebe (und auch noch eine wahre Geschichte):

Ich lesen gerade abwechselnd Jane Austen Mysteries von Stephanie Barron (eine Krimi-Reihe mit Jane Austen als genau beobachtender "Ermittlerin" mit viel Menschenkenntnis) und Dresden Files von Jim Butcher (ebenfalls Krimi, hier ist der Ermittler ein Magier und Privatdetektiv im Chicago der Gegenwart, ein echter Magier, denn Magie gibt es wirklich, auch wenn die meisten Menschen das nicht ahnen)

Beides in Englisch und auf totem Baum von Freunden geliehen. Keine Ahnung, ob es das auch als eBook und auf Deutsch gibt.

Beides auf seine Art spannend und unterhaltsam.

Mittendrin und die Lust verloren, weil sich in einem anderen Board jemand einen Spoiler nicht verkneifen konnte: Drood von Dan Simmons

Angefangen: Gil Blas von LeSage. Das schöne Geschenk, das mir Alaska gemacht hat. Ein witziges Buch. Vieles für heutige Verhältnisse völlig überzogen, aber humorvoll und unterhaltsam.

Liebäugelnd mit: noch mehr zuckersüßem Kitsch
