Scott Sigler offering free eBook to HC buyers

NYT Bestselling Author Scott Sigler is giving away a free eBook copy of his book The Starter if you purchase the Hard Cover edition.

In my opinion, this is the way to go, I've said it before and I'll keep saying it. The best thing that DVDs/Blu-Rays have going for them is you usually get a free digital copy with the purchase.

Kudos to Sigler, the FDO, and godfather of podcast novels to try and set another trend.

Let's hope that it doesn't become the only way to get a digital copy.

it apparently is a 1 time deal because he is that late in getting some things out in meeting deadlines for the fans and such. he gave his book away an audiobook format the a podcast and still reach the new york times bestseller list so he's doing something right

Never heard of that... But I do think the fact that there are releases where you can get the DVD and the Blu-ray disc in one package is most certainly good for the sale of blu-ray discs.

He used to have the ebooks free on his website when he used to post here, so it's actually a step backwards.

Thank you! I have no interest in either HC or paperbacks anymore.

he is but he has to finish ancestor first.

I've only seen highly secured pdf formattypes weird for download not real books. But whren you have a deal and your own publishing company then certain things have to go away, and hes given you alot of time to decide if he is worth your money I also think that the ebook with the hardcover is a great way to keep hard covers and paperbacks coming

Google Editions is going to let their partners offer HC+ebook bundles, from Getting started with Google Editions
Quote:
Google Editions Bundle Price: When Google Editions are available to consumers, retailers may choose to sell your Google Editions book in a bundle with the print copy. This setting allows you to specify the percentage of the Google Editions list price that you would like to charge when the print and digital editions are sold together.
I don't know if 0% will be allowed, but I can't see why not.

If Google Editions does this, Amazon and B&N won't be far behind.

It's true! Scott Sigler has launched the GFL series at BackMyBook.com!

Sorry to say he's not giving it away for free, but with both ebooks starting at 8 bucks and a plethora of combo packages (some including a 2 gig flash drive) even the most skeptical readers should be able to find a deal with the right price.

PS, for the sigler podcast fans: both audiobooks are available on their own or as package deals as well.

Check it out here: http://backmybook.com/authors/scott-sigler/store

Yep, saw that on his website....7.99 for an eBook is the most I'd pay, but then again, I've supported Sigler in his podcast ventures since day one, and have paid $35 for the HC of both The Rookie and The Starter because they are self published, and Grade A quality.

Just a heads up to Sigler fans. He lowered The Rookie to $2.99 and The Starter to $4.99. Cant wait to start reading them after I finish The Hunger Games.

I really wish this becomes a standard. I hope that those who don't want pbooks taking up space will still be able to purchase ebooks separately, but I really want to have an ebook + pbook bundle so I can have the pbook for my shelf to collect, and the ebook to read.

Seriously???

Nice! I just bought and finished the Starter when it was $7.99, need it in HC though so it'll fit and look nice on my shelf, he's one of the VERY few authors I still have in book format. I'll buy The Rookie if only to have it in eBook format too.

Those books are AWESOME! I can't wait for All-Pro this football season!!
