I don't think it's power that does it, I think it's a total lack of personal responsibility and the problem of relativism which allows for ego and personal desire to be considered the highest of values. I do actually believe in absolute rights and wrongs, unpopular as that is.

well, i think that most politicians do start out truly sincere, but all those games and red tape, i guess it really gets to you, and the "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" game.

This is true only to an extent. You need to be able to articulate the beliefs, feelings, fears, and aspirations back to your constituents. Something you say has to resonate in the hearts and minds of the voters.

However, in California we had Arnold Schwarzenegger as our governor for almost seven years. I don't know if you have seen any of his movies, but he doesn't speak English. I mean, come on, the guy couldn't even correctly pronounce the name of the state he was governing.

Needless to say, our election of Arnold proves that California is the dumbest state in America. That title used to belong to Florida with their inability to master a ballot, but electing and then reelecting a c- actor to be our governor takes the cake.

Then again, Minnesota elected conspiracy theorist professional wrestler Jesse Ventura to be its governor, so maybe California aint so dumb.
