i know it may sound far-fetched, but i keep thinking that if apple kept this up, their app store might get deserted or something...

			I honestly think Apple just doesn't care about ebooks. They have a huge fanbase that will remain loyal to them regardless.

			Wasn't it Jobs that said that Apple won't be making an ebook reader because nobody reads anymore?

			So how I see it is... he doesn't want to be seen as wrong, so he is trying to bring about his statement. What a bellend |

			I think the issue for the customer is not how the payment works or who gets around this rule by that means or whatever. The issue is going to be that if the app makers (Kobo, Amazon etc.) can't work it out with Apple, they will pull the app altogether. It won't be 'no big deal for me since I am fine with buying it in the browser.' It will be 'even if you buy it in the browser, it won't make a difference because there will be NO APP with which to read the book you browser-bought.' And THAT might not be an issue if you are American and can tolerate the iBookstore, but since it is a wasteland there for the non-American, that's going to be a problem for a lot of people. I *love* my iPad (not for 'fangirl' reasons but because it is the only appliance I own which truly does what I need for my somewhat unique work situation) and own more than one Apple product, but I think they are treading on very dangerous ground here, and I do think they are heading toward a massive backlash and/or a regulator stepping in and telling them they can't do this. They have pushed too far on this and it will come back to bite them. |

sorry? i wasn't trying to be spiteful or incite something. but i have heard about his health and it was an honest question...? i'm not anti-apple. i do use their products after all. however, their recent policies are troubling and well...just a question of priorities, that's all. i am not trying to start a fight ;_;

			If you had heard more about his health then you would know that because of his health he withdrew from the day-to-day running of the company last year! |

I feel for iThingie users if this goes ahead it may get pretty bad before it gets better (or even back to what it was). And I think for many it will lead the buying to a secondary tablet/dedicated reader in the short term so they can get their media fix. Also I think many people will be saying in the coming months you only have yourselves to blame. Last edited by M0zza; 02-23-2011 at 12:34 AM.
