@maian: no, it's an undergrad degree. A second degree. I didn't want to go into graduate studies because of a lack of foundation and real business experience. I speak filipino, not Malay. I can speak fookien too and a little mandarin.
@snake: oh my parents wanted me to get a degree in finance. I wanted to spend a year in japan brushing up on Japanese and go into translation and interpretation

You must have Chinese parents to insist on a finance degree. I stupidly decided that I wanted to do that all by myself (chinese Great-grandfather notwithstanding). Many years in a bank (pre-degree) makes one hunger for numbers.

You may use the green and orange ones if you like, but please do not colour in the lambs leg blue (right ....right.... remembering when I was four and a kid coloured in the lambs leg in MY book blue)

i just spit coffee, I say the same thing about my wife, when she's not in range that is and god forbid you miss, thats would be the end of life as we know it.

About huge iPhone bills, when I was in Dubai for 3 months my first months bill was RM2500 ($800 +) and that was SMS only, I knew better than using my phone to call anyone. Turns out that unless you turn off data in your settings you will still make connection when ever there is a 3G/Edge connection available.

@sneaky: i'm 75% chinese. my sister is also a CPA, but she's working in singapore now at DBS. i think i'd go into it for the money, but not forever.

I have to make a short presentation to start my national exam in biology. I found a great paper, describing something really cool (folding proteins produced in E.coli bacteria, which is not possible by default). Problem is, it's published in a free online Journal with not so great impact factor (I'm not even sure the factor is official) and I'm wondering - if they really did what they say, it could have gone to Nature/Science/Cell (the appropriate subdivision of course). So now I'm not sure if I should search for something else, or try find similar article in better magazine, or should I just ignore the whole "Impact factor" thing and present it anyway...

Whe had an economics class at college. Let's just say: I made it. No idea how. I think as we were the last ones (as the entire curriculum was completely changed around), the teacher didn't want to make extra exams, which he would have had to do if people failed it...

My father was highly disappointed in me because I absolutely didn't want to do anything with economics or finance. He even said so in my face (that was after I dropped out of university and went to a "university of applied sciences", which is apparently the official english term of the education I finished...).

But I ignored him and finished my computer science and information technology diploma.... I think it sounds better anyway!
