Oh damn... lack of sleep, really... for the last 2 weeks it's been a case of go to bed at midnight, wake up at 02H30... then every hour until 06H30... then wake again at 09H30.

Needless to say I'm looking more like a character out of a zombie flick

I've lived through a few major quakes and can honestly say, 'they scare the shit out of me!'
Like nothing else on earth, earthquakes make you feel absolutely helpless. There is just nothing you can do...

I was just a few miles from the epicenter of the 'Silmar Quake' in LA back in '71. I was just a few miles from the epicenter of the 'Great Honshin Kobe Quake' in '95. I've seen first hand what major earthquakes can do.

I'm not a fan of earthquakes...

The worst bit about them is that there's rarely any warning. At least up here we get a good 72~48hrs of warning before a cyclone strikes us down.
