Faulty uploads
I am using Calibre to manage the files on my Kindle, and I've hit a problem. Some of the books I've uploaded to my Kindle have not uploaded the author names. The names are there on the Calibre display on my computer, but only the titles appear on the Kindle display. I've checked the Calibre metadata, and the authors appear there.

Please can anyone tell me what is going wrong and how I correct it?

What format are the books in? As an example there is sometimes problems updating the metadata inside PDF files.

All of them are mobi or prc, downloaded from the list of freebies at the Baen free library.
